2 Arrested In Moorhead Deer Hunting Investigation
MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) — Two Moorhead men are in jail for alleged game law violations during Minnesota's firearms deer season opener.
Police say tips from the public led to the arrests of the 19-year-old men.
One of the men is accused of shooting and killing a deer in north Moorhead Sunday morning. Investigators say the man shot the deer without a license and knowing that he was within city limits. The deer was taken in an SUV to the man's home.
Police say the man did not register the deer with the DNR but later the same day bought a deer hunting license. He allegedly went out hunting with the other man and shot another deer in north Moorhead, using a different gun.
Both men are in the Clay County Jail.
