2 Arrested For Columbia Heights Robbery
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police in Columbia Heights arrested a man and woman they think may be responsible for a string of business robberies.
Officers got a call about an armed robbery that happened at the Totem Superette on Friday, March 11 just after 9:30 p.m.
Police said they caught Jimmy Matthews, 34, after a short foot chase. Shelly Brown, 33, was found waiting in a car near the robbery scene. Police recovered a gun and cash. No one was injured.
Matthews, who has been previously convicted of murder and robbery, is charged with aggravated robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Brown, who police think may be the get-away driver, was charged with aggravated robbery.
Columbia Heights' detectives are investigating along with the Anoka County Sheriff's Department to see if the two are responsible for other recent business robberies.
