2 Arrested After Brooklyn Park House Fire
BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police say two people were taken into custody after apparently setting a fire in Brooklyn Park Monday evening.
According to the city fire department, crews responded to a call of a fire on the 7700 block of Hampshire Avenue at about 6:45 p.m.
A townhome complex was found burning. Crews were able to extinguish the fire and save much of the house's contents, the fire chief said.
A neighbor rescued an elderly woman from the townhome.
Two adults were arrested by Brooklyn Park Police. Officers said it appears the two were burning bags of yard waste in the driveway and "acting silly." The flames eventually spread to the townhome nearby.
The two people arrested were later released, but may still face charges. They were not named by police.
