17 Soldiers Returning To Minn. From Afghanistan
BRAINERD, Minn. (AP) -- Seventeen soldiers who have been serving in Afghanistan for the past 10 months are scheduled to return to Minnesota.
The troops are members of the U.S. Army Reserve's 309th Engineering Company. They're scheduled to arrive in Brainerd on Friday about 6:30 p.m.
No ceremony is planned, but a Brainerd Dispatch report says the public is invited to join relatives and friends of the soldiers at the U.S. Army Reserve Center.
The soldiers have been in Afghanistan since early October. Their job included working with U.S. Marines to clear roadside bombs.
