17 Empty Rail Cars Derail In Duluth
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Crews will be cleaning up after 17 empty railroad cars derailed on an elevated section of track in Duluth.
Two of the cars plunged from the bridge Thursday morning into a small, fenced wooded area.
No one was hurt.
Canadian National spokesman Patrick Waldron tells the Duluth News Tribune that the train was on a connection track that leads to the limestone loading area of Duluth's DM&IR ore docks.
Waldron says since the cars were empty, there were no environmental issues. He says the cause is under investigation.
