Girl Who Drowned In Brooklyn Center Pool Identified
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the body of the girl who drowned Friday while swimming with her sisters at a Brooklyn Center apartment complex pool.
Fourteen-year-old Hellen Nyabouchwa, of Brooklyn Center, died at 7:10 p.m. at the North Memorial Medical Center, authorities said.
Nyabouchwa began struggling in the deep end of a pool at the River Glen apartment complex, located at 507 70th Ave. N., just before 6:30 p.m., police said.
Nyabouchwa's death marks the sixteenth drowning in Hennepin County this summer.
