Woodbury Consignment Sale Offers Thousands Of Items For Kids
WOODBURY, Minn. (WCCO) -- With inflation raising the price of everything from groceries to gas, a huge consignment sale opens Wednesday to help families save hundreds on everything for kids and teens.
The Just Between Friends consignment sale will take place at the M Health Fairview Sports Center Wednesday through Saturday.
Inside the center, there are rows and rows filled with more than 100,000 items for sale including kids clothing, toys, books and bedding. This is the 13th year for the consignment sale.
All of the items came from about 500 regional families, so if you have new or gently-used items at home you can sell your items here.
Everything is current and gently used. Shoppers can save 50% to 90% off the retail price. Shoppers, like mother of four Rachel Kangas, say there are deals you just can't pass up.
"I know if I went to a department store or went to the mall -- even to Target -- at that capacity, it would have cost four times that much," Kangas said.
Asked which items are the most popular, event coordinator Sue Endle said baby gear is right near the top of the list.
"Because you know those babies go through those things so quickly in that first 12 months of life," she said.
Anyone with new or gently used items at home can also sign up to be a seller. Those interested would price their own items and bring them to the sale to get paid for their items.
A special community pre-sale takes place Wednesday, but the sale is open to the public Thursday through Saturday. About 3,000 people were expected through Saturday; that figure has grown over the years, especially due to inflation.
This sale happens twice a year and organizers are looking for sellers for their fall sale.
Tickets are free in advance online or $3 at the door. Many items will be marked an additional 50% off on Saturday. For more information on the Just Between Friends Consignment Sale in Woodbury, click here.
