2 Arrested After Police Chase In St. Paul
ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- A man is in the hospital after he got caught up in a police chase on Thursday.
Police say it all started Thursday afternoon after an undercover drug buy outside a business at Maryland and Rice in St. Paul.
Police arrested two people right away but two others took off in a car.
They headed south on Rice Street at high speeds and crashed into a van. That van was pushed across a lane of traffic, over a sidewalk, and through a fence.
The driver, Thomas Richard Blanck, 65, of Prescott, Wis. was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK. He was released from the hospital late Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
Police arrested the two men in the car after the crash. Just before 10 p.m. Thursday, St. Paul police released the names of two of the suspects. They were identified as 34-year-0ld Amon Manning and 25-year-old Timothy Smith. Both men were arrested on drug-related offenses but have not been formally charged.
St. Paul police were still looking for the driver of the car. The incident remains under investigation.
