1 Injured In Illegal Firework Factory Explosion
WYOMING, Minn. (WCCO) – An illegal firework manufacturing operation was discovered Saturday in Wyoming after a man was hospitalized with 1st-degree burns.
Wyoming Police say a 30-year-old man suffered severe burns after a minor flashover explosion in the garage at 7002 Lake Blvd. late Saturday morning.
After the man was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, police discovered materials used to make fireworks. After acquiring a search warrant, authorities found a small manufacturing operation, producing illegal 2-3 inch mortar-style aerial fireworks.
Wyoming Police, with assistance from the St. Paul Bomb Squad and the ATF, dismantled and removed the equipment.
Two adult males are currently in custody.
