Just after 2 a.m., police say a man fired several rounds toward people on 1st Avenue and 3rd Street. Police believe the man was firing at adversaries, not randomly.
Jamaal Brown, 23, was hit outside the Karma Nightclub and was brought to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
No one was taken into custody.
Police said that the Karma Nightclub has been a "source of continuing problems." The commander of the First Precinct, Inspector Kris Arneson, said the Minneapolis Police Department will work with other city departments to remedy issues concerning the nightclub.
