Body Found After Lodge Explosion, Fire In St. Louis County
BABBITT, Minn. (WCCO) -- One person has been found dead after a lodge explosion and fire in rural Babbitt, Minn. early Thursday morning, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call at 2:56 a.m. reporting the explosion and resulting fire at Timber Wolf Lodge. Shortly after fire departments arrived, the fire was controlled.
The entire lodge and the connecting living quarters of the owner was a total loss, authorities said.
No guests were believed to be staying in the lodge at the time of the incident, but a body was found in the living quarters. No identity has been made yet.
Several guests staying nearby were not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
