1 Dead In Wrong-Way Crash In Coon Rapids
COON RAPIDS, Minn. (WCCO) -- One person was killed in a wrong-way head-on collision in the north metro late Thursday evening. The crash involved two trucks traveling on Highway 10.
The State Patrol and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office say the crash happened around 11:30 p.m. in Coon Rapids.
The sheriff's department says 30-year-old Tyler Trelford was driving a pickup truck was going the wrong direction on the road, when he stopped and was hit head-on by another truck.
Trelford, of East Bethel, was killed in the crash. According to the State Patrol, alcohol may have been a factor.
The other driver, a 62-year-old man from Andover, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
More information on the crash is expected to be released later this morning.
