1 Dead In Car-Train Crash In Southern Minnesota
OWATONNA, Minn. (AP) -- One person is dead and another taken to the hospital after their car collided with a freight train in southern Minnesota.
Steele County sheriff's officials say the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Friday in the city of Meriden.
Authorities say the car's passenger died at the scene. The driver was taken to the Owatonna Hospital. The driver's condition is unknown.
Names of the victims have not been released. The sheriff's office is investigating.
