1 Dead, 1 Injured In Wright County Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The early morning snowstorm could be to blame for a fatal head-on crash Monday morning on Highway 55 in Wright County.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports the crash happened at 8:40 a.m. at Eaton Ave. SE, west of Rockford.
Authorities say a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am was heading east on Highway 55 when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on with a 2003 GMC Yukon, that was traveling west.
The road conditions at that time are listed as icy.
The driver of the Pontiac Grand Am died in the crash. Their identity has not been released.
The State Patrol said the driver of the second vehicle, identified as David Koosman, 53, of Rockford, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
