1 Dead, 1 Injured In Crow Wing Co. Plane Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 55-year-old man is dead and a 61-year-old man is injured after a plane crash on Upper Whitefish Lake, near Crosslake.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office responded to the plane crash around 9:52 a.m. Sunday, where witnesses described seeing two people in the plane. The plane was described as a Sky Star Kitfox No. 4.
The 61-year-old Crosslake man, the lone passenger, was treated at the scene and transported to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center for serious injuries.
The pilot, also of Crosslake, was pronounced dead at the scene after resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office, along with the F.A.A. and the N.T.S.B. are investigating the crash.
The identities of both the passenger and the pilot are being withheld until family can be notified.
