1 Arrested, 1 Sought In Victoria's Secret Break-In At St. Cloud Mall
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- A man was arrested in St. Cloud early Thursday morning under suspicion of breaking into a Victoria's Secret store in the Crossroads Mall, and police believe another person got away.
Timothy Scott Prince, 32, is charged with second degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, and fleeing an officer on foot.
Police responded to reports of a burglary in progress at the mall at around 4:45 a.m. when they encountered Prince fleeing the scene. An officer pursued Prince on foot and caught up with him about a block away, where the suspect surrendered without further incident.
Investigators say the suspect(s) forced open a service door to get inside the mall and forced their way into the Victoria's Secret store soon after. There wasn't any evidence to indicate a break-in at any other stores in the mall.
Evidence at the scene suggested the burglary involved more than one person, as an interior window at the store was broken out into the mall area.
Police say Prince has several prior arrests and convictions for theft-related offenses. The St. Cloud Police Department says the investigation is ongoing.
