Donating airline miles is one simple way you can help grant a Make-A-Wish experience to a child with a critical illness. That's why WCCO-TV and Make-A-Wish Minnesota are teaming up for our 7th Annual Wishes in Flight Drive on Thursday, March 27.
Over the past six years, WCCO viewers have donated over 56 million miles to Make-A-Wish Minnesota.
Did you know?
- 75 million airline miles are needed to grant Minnesota travel wishes annually.
- More than 75% of our wishes involve air travel. Make-A-Wish Minnesota doesn't just send the wish child on a trip; the whole immediate household family goes along.
- $6,000 is the average cash cost of a Minnesota.
- Any number of miles help. From as little as 1,000, which is the minimum for United and Delta, to all of your miles. The sky's the limit!
- Donated miles never expire for Make-A-Wish.
To help grant a life-changing wish experience, WCCO viewers can donate airline miles now through Thursday, March 27 by donating HERE or by calling 612-767-9474.
Make-A-Wish Minnesota can accept donations from the following airlines:
Delta SkyMiles - 1,000 mile minimum
- To know how many miles in account: 1-800-323-2323 or delta.com.
United MileagePlus - 1,000 mile minimum
- To know how many miles in account: 1-800-421-4655 or united.com.
When donating, you will need to have your mileage account number ready. If you do not know your account number, you can call your airline to find out.
If you don't know how many miles you have, that's OK. You can simply enter the amount you would like to donate - or call the airline to find out your account balance.
Having issues donating online or prefer to donate over the phone? Call the Make-A-Wish Minnesota office at 612-767-9474. If someone does not immediately answer, leave a message and they will return your call within 24 hours.
Every mile donated helps wish kids and their families travel to destinations. Thank you for your generosity and for helping wishes take flight!
