Several Parkland families are taking a survivor of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting to court over the rights to the shooter's name and his money.
The families are at odds with survivor Anthony Borges over the shooter's money.
In a settlement, Nikolas Cruz signed away the rights to his name and money to survivor Anthony Borges. An attorney for the Parkland families said he didn't have the right to do that.
Their attorney concedes it is highly unlikely they will ever receive much money.
The parents of Luke Hoyer, Alaina Petty and Meadow Pollack each reached $50 million settlements with Nikolas Cruz. Wounded student Maddy Wilford agreed to a $40 million settlement.
Its construction is the result of the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland back in 2018.
