World Media Eyes Miami In NBA Finals

MIAMI (CBS4) - All eyes are on Miami as the Heat take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals.

The Magic City is at the center of the world stage and media from across the globe are trying to get it on the action.

"This is my first NBA Finals and it's great to be here because in India, we love basketball, but it's still not a very popular sport," said Turja Sen, Executive Producer of 10 Sports in India. "It's great to get a feel for it. The atmosphere is electric."

Media outlets from around the world have set up shop deep inside the AmericanAirlines Arena.

Cameras and computers nearly outnumber people, and breaks for some of the smaller crews are hard to come by.

"I'm tired, because we have a show every day after games," said Clement Cotentin, a photographer and reporter for Canal + in France. "I work all night, shoot, work all night to edit a four or five minute feature for the show the day after. So I go to bed at noon."

The crew from China arrived at the arena about 5 hours before tip-off Tuesday. They didn't waste a minute getting to work.

They went through security, set up their gear and quickly started reporting live to fans halfway around the world.

"We use this great technology called Live U, and it's a backpack that streams live," reporter Ya Chin Chang explained. "So we actually stream live to fans in China on this website."

While this trip is for business, not pleasure, most journalists can agree they don't mind taking their talents to South Beach.

"Miami's pretty exciting," Ya Chin Chang said. "You come here, it's very different, very cultural. We just came from Oklahoma City. It's two cultures and the cultures also reflect on both teams."

Cotentin says he's been working so much he hasn't had enough time to take in the sights of South Florida.

"I haven't had the South Beach experience because I'm working, but it's great," Cotentin said. "It's great. I love the city."
