Worker Rescued From Stuck Scaffolding At MIA
MIAMI (CBS4) - A worker found himself in need of rescue after the scaffolding he was standing on became stuck, trapping him roughly 50 feet in the air.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials say the worker, an independent contractor, was painting a fuel tank when the incident occurred.
The MDFR Technical Rescue Team extended a rescue platform to lower the worker, who was not hurt in the ordeal.
"He was basically safe, but stuck inside the basket," said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chief Jose Herrera. "We put the rescue platform right up next to his basket, and then we were able to lift the person from his basket, onto our platform, and brought him down to safety."
The tank was being painted to repair damage made on March 23rd when the fuel farm exploded in flames due to a short circuit in one of the pumps.
