Woman Sues Gloria Estefan's Miami Eatery
MIAMI (CBS4/TMZ) – A woman is suing Gloria Estefan's Miami restaurant "Bongos Cuban Café."
Gerry Ann Yanks called it a dangerous place, according to TMZ.com.
Yanks claims she was disfigured at the eatery. According to the lawsuit, Yanks was hurt "after slipping and falling on a slippery substance."
She claims bodily injury, pain, physical handicap, disfigurement, mental pain and suffering, loss of income, and loss of the capacity to enjoy lif, according to the website.
Yanks said the restaurant should have known about the slippery stuff, according to the website, since she said she warned the staff about it before she fell.
Her exact injuries aren't specified in the lawsuit, so it isn't clear what part of her was actually (allegedly) disfigured.
She filed suit against the restaurant and Estefan Enterprises, Inc. for more than $15,000.
Estefan's reps had no comment.
