Woman Pushes Wrong Buttons In Controller Thefts

BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) – Boynton Beach Police are looking for a video-gaming vandal who had a different way of using her hands while at a Best Buy in Boynton Beach on Friday.

The store's surveillance video showed a woman who allegedly stole PlayStation3 game controllers from the store at 550 N. Congress Avenue.

Boynton Beach Police said they need the public's help to find someone who holds the key to the woman's identity.

The woman was shown on video taking two game controllers out of their packages and then stuffing them into her purse around 4:30 p.m.

Authorities believe that this woman may be the same person who stole two Xbox controllers and two PlayStation 3 controllers from the same Best Buy back on September 24th. There was no surveillance video of this incident.

A loss prevention officer told police that after both thefts he found empty controller packages on a shelf in the personal computer section of the Best Buy.

The woman involved is also suspected of stealing PlayStation3's from Target stores in Delray Beach and suburban Boca Raton.

If you recognize the woman, police ask you call Det. Jason Llopis at 561-742-6144 or Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS.
