Teen Arrested After Woman Is Killed In Coral Springs Accident

CORAL SPRINGS (CBSMiami) – A woman is dead after her car was T-boned in Coral Springs on Tuesday.
Eric Abraham, 17, has been identified by Coral Springs police as the driver behind the deadly crash that claimed the life of 53-year-old Christianne Weiner of Parkland.
Her 11-year-old son was airlifted to Broward health Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Coral Springs police said Abraham was at the wheel of a dark-colored Toyota Corolla when he ran a red light and broadsided Weiner's white Mercedes at 10:40 Tuesday morning on West Sample Road and NW 101st Ave.
Police say Abraham was driving a stolen vehicle and a patrolman was trying to stop him.
"They attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop so it continued at a high rate of speed on Sample Road so the investigation is ongoing," said Coral Springs Police Department Det. Ernesto Bruna.
Weiner was rushed to Broward Health North where she was pronounced dead.
"I saw the lady being put on the ambulance when she was unresponsive, so all I kept thinking and praying was that nothing would happen to her," said a witness, who added she was in front of the Mercedes when the crash happened.
Police detained Abraham and three passengers – two of them minors and an 18-year-old identified by police as Tyree Goodwin. They were all transported to Broward Health North.
"It's affected me so much to see these kids probably make bad choices. It's not worth it," said the witness.
Currently Abraham is being charged with Vehicular Homicide; Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Causing Serious Bodily Injury or Death (4 counts); Reckless Driving Causing Serious Bodily Injury or Death (4 counts); No Driver's License Causing Serious Bodily Injury or Death (4 counts); and Grand Theft – Auto (Possession).
The investigation is still ongoing. At this time, it is unknown if the remaining occupants from the vehicle will be facing any criminal charges.
