The accident happened just after 5 a.m. Friday in the 800 block of Dixie Highway. The train was using the Florida East Coast Railway tracks which parallel the street when the engine struck the woman. The train stopped, blocking a number of crossings in the Pompano Beach area while BSO investigates.
