Woman In Critical Condition After Accident
FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) — A Ft. Lauderdale woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a frightening crash Sunday morning.
Jennifer Quijano, 24, was the passenger on a motorcycle being driven by Andrew Paul Piccolo, 31 when they hit a barrier wall going to Interstate 95. The two were riding on the southbound entrance ramp from Broward Boulevard around 3:23 a.m. when Piccolo suddenly hit the wall, according to the Florida Highway Patrol's Sgt. Mark Wysocky.
Quijano was thrown off of the bike and flew over a wall, where she dropped 15 feet onto the roadway below.
Piccolo suffered minor injuries and Quiljano was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.
Neither was wearing a helmet.
