ORLANDO (CBSMiami) - Two people were arrested after they tried to take guns into two Walt Disney theme parks in Orlando.
Monday morning, Baleigh Turner was taken into custody after a loaded pistol was found in her backpack when she tried to enter Animal Kingdom, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
A Disney employee found the loaded pistol while checking the bag at the park's entrance. Turner, 23, who was visiting Orlando from Alabama, told Orange County deputies she had a permit to carry a gun but couldn't find it when asked to show it to them.
Turner eventually did show it to them after the deputies checked with Alabama officials. The permit had expired in January. She was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm.
Earlier in the morning, 61-year-old Michael Langston, from Louisiana, was arrested after he tried to enter Epcot with a loaded gun in a holster strapped to his waist. A Disney security officer found the gun during a random metal detector screening. Langston was also charged with carrying a concealed firearm.
Disney has a strict policy prohibiting guns from their theme parks and resorts.
