Woman Accused Of Torching Ft. Lauderdale Home

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - A woman was taken into custody Tuesday morning after she allegedly tried to run down her ex-boyfriend with her car before torching his Ft. Lauderdale home.

According to Ft. Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesman Matt Little, just before 9 a.m. Firefighters received a call about a residential fire at 2854 S.W. 4th Court. When firefighters arrived they found both the house and vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

Ft. Lauderdale police say the incident began when 26-year old Mirca Galluumette got into a 'physical confrontation' with her boyfriend at North Fork Elementary.  She allegedly attacked him and then left before police arrived.  She then reportedly went to his home and tried to run him over.  When that failed, police say she set his house on fire.

According to Little, their initial reports said that someone may have been inside the but after an extensive search no one was found inside.  Gallumette and her ex-boyfriend share two children, but they were not at the home when the fire was set.

Gallumette has been charged with two counts of arson, two counts of violating a protection order and single counts of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and burglary.
