Winter Storm Wreaking Havoc On Airline Travel

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It's another day of delays and cancellations at South Florida's airports as an arctic blast wreaks havoc to our north.

Air traffic has been all but halted for some airports in the northeast as the polar vortex descends on the area. JetBlue has been impacted throughout the northeast corridor.

JetBlue has canceled 373 flights as of 4 p.m. Monday with another 220 flights delayed by the airline. Officially, JetBlue will reduce operations at all three New York airports and Boston's Logan Airport at 1 p.m. Monday.

JetBlue waived the change/cancel fees for customers in the northeast who have been impacted by the delays and cancellations. The airline said that further cancellations are "still occurring as crews exceed their allowed duty times."

At Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Monday, the airport had seen 35 arrival cancellations and 112 arrival delays as of 4 p.m. with another 43 departure cancellations and 114 departure delays.
