Winn-Dixie Goes High Tech With Shopping App
MIAMI (CBS4) - Your next trip to the grocery store may be a little more enjoyable thanks to a high tech helper.
Jacksonville-based Winn-Dixie Stores announced they have launched an app for smartphones to help customers manage shopping lists and find deals in their area, CBS4 news partners The Miami Herald is reporting.
The app is available for both the iPhone and Android phones, and is supported by the MyWebGrocer.com platform.
In addition to deals, the app shows users where the closest store is and has the ability to create and sync a shopping list to a computer or another user.
Winn-Dixie rival, Lakeland-based Publix Stores has had an app on iTunes since May, but has since updated it.
Users complain that the app, built by ShopLocal, is not able to compile shopping lists.
The app mostly shows shopping deals for that particular week, including the stores popular BOGO (buy one, get one free) offers.
