WikiLeaks May Target Bank Of America
LONDON (CBS4) - The founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, has a new target in the crosshairs, a major U.S. bank believed to be Bank of America. According to Assange, he has a hard drive full of internal memos and documents that used to belong to a bank executive and if it is Bank of America, it could have negative impacts all the way down to South Florida.
"We don't want the bank to suffer unless it's called for," Assange told The Times of London. "But if its management is operating in a responsive way there will be resignations," he said, without giving details about the material.
Bank of America hasn't officially been targeted, but that hasn't stopped them from preparing damage control just in case. According to New York magazine, the company is buying up negative domain names about the companies CEO.
Meantime, the CIA has created a task force to investigate Wikileaks that has internet users around the country laughing because of the initials. The CIA created the Wikileaks Task Force, or WTF, to investigate the impact of the exposure of the U.S. diplomatic cables and military files.
