MIAMI (CBS4) – While New Years day fell on a Sunday this year, many agencies and businesses will officially observe it on Monday by being closed.

- Postal Service: No deliveries, post offices closed, Express Mail will be delivered

- Miami-Dade and Broward Courts
- Miami-Dade public schools
- Miami-Dade and Broward libraries
- Garbage collection: Miami-Dade and Broward will have regular trash pick-ups
- Miami-Dade and Broward transit: Weekend schedule on Sunday, regular schedule on Monday
- Tri-Rail: Weekend schedule on Sunday, regular schedule on Monday
