Weston Man Charged In I-75 Road Rage Shooting
HIALEAH(CBS4) - A Weston man has been charged after he allegedly shot a tourist in a suspected case of road rage.
It happened Tuesday around 10 p.m. on southbound I-75 where it connects to the ramp to the Palmetto Expressway (SR826). According to the Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Alex Annunziato a 40-year old Brazilian national, who lives in Virginia, was on his way to Miami International Airport to catch a flight to Brazil when he got into some sort of dispute on the road with 37-year old Vahid McLaughlin. Both men pulled over to the side of the highway and got into an argument. At one point during the fight, McLaughlin allegedly pulled a gun and shot the other man.
The injured man was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
McLaughlin was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder.
