Weekend Warmup Before Arctic Blast
MIAMI (CBS4) - This past week has been one for the record books when it comes to the weather. The cold snap earlier this week led to record lows and record low maximum temperatures every day this week in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe counties.
Friday morning, there was still a chill in the air with the upper 40s and low 50s. Dressing in layers is the key because temperatures will be warming up about 20 to 25 degrees by Friday afternoon with forecast highs in the mid to upper 70s. The average high is 78-degrees.
The area of low pressure that brought South Florida the clouds and the wet weather on Thursday is moving out and there will be plenty of sunshine and mild, comfortable temperatures.
High pressure builds in this weekend bringing in drier conditions and warmer weather.
Saturday afternoon will be much warmer with seasonal highs in the upper 70s and plenty of sunshine.
Sunday will be even warmer with highs in the 80s and a better chance of showers.
But enjoy the warmer weather while it lasts because another cold front is forecast to move in Sunday night into Monday morning and temperatures will be tumbling once again to start off the next work week.
Monday morning, temperatures will be in the low 50s and highs will struggle to reach the 60-degree mark. Tuesday morning, it'll be even colder with lows possibly dropping down into the 30s and highs in the low 60s.
