Weekend Showers On Tap For South Florida
MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The same cold front that has spawned severe weather the past few days across much of the U.S. is currently tracking across the Southeast and will be dipping down across the Sunshine state as we head into the weekend.
Plenty of moisture and instability ahead of the front will lead to a better chance for rain starting Friday and especially on Saturday, according to CBS4 Meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez.
Some showers are already sweeping in across portions of South Florida which is having a very warm and steamy start.
Highs will soar the upper 80s and it may feel like the 90s due to the humidity.
The summery weather pattern continues into Saturday with storms around.
Some models forecast the front will be draped across Central Florida while other models show the front sagging farther South. Depending on how close the front is to South Florida will determine just how wet Saturday will be. Either way the atmosphere will remain unsettled and moist enough for storms to develop through Sunday.
Highs will remain in the low to mid 80s through the weekend.
Early next week, high pressure builds providing South Florida with a drier weather pattern.
