Valve Leak Sends Water Spewing Into Sky In N. Miami

NORTH MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A construction crew in North Miami got all wet trying to cap a water leak Wednesday morning.

Video from Chopper 4 showed water spewing high into the sky at Northeast 123rd Street and 16th Avenue.

According to Miami-Dade Water and Sewer officials, a contractor was doing work on a manhole when crews hit a water valve which caused the water to leak.

They said no pipes were broken and therefore, no boil water order was necessary.

Crews on the site worked quickly to bring the leak under control and make repairs.

There was no impact to traffic in the area.
