Wasserman Schultz Urges San Diego Mayor To Resign
WASHINGTON (CBSMiami/AP) - South Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who is also the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, called on San Diego's mayor to resign as claims of sexual harassment by the mayor increase.
Wasserman Schultz's move came after four more women came forward saying they were targets of Mayor Bob Filner's sexual advances.
She says the misconduct Filner has been accused of is, quote, "reprehensible and indefensible."
Wasserman Schultz says there is, quote, "no place for this type of conduct in the workplace and certainly not in our city halls and public offices."
Filner is a former Democratic congressman who's now accused by seven women of making unwanted sexual advances.
Leaders of the San Diego Democratic party are urging the mayor to quit.
