Wasserman Schultz Says Cuban Embargo Should Remain
WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) – Florida Congresswoman, and Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz told a South Florida crowd on Friday the economic embargo on Cuba should remain in place.
Wasserman Schultz made the comments during an appearance at the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches Friday. The DNC chair said the oppression ongoing in Cuba is enough to keep the embargo in place.
On an unrelated topic, Wasserman Schultz was asked about the 2016 Presidential race. The Congresswoman said she'd be "thrilled" if either Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or Vice President Joe Biden decided to run.
The DNC chair said the full field of Democratic candidates in 2016 will likely be determined once Clinton makes her decision about running. If Clinton does decide to run in 2015/2016, she'll be 68-years-old.
