Warm Weekend Ahead With Showers Possible

MIAMI (CBS4) – South Florida woke up to a very warm start to the weekend Friday with the low 80s and a few spotty showers. Skies are still hazy across South Florida due to some lingering African Dust.

Despite the filtered sunshine, Friday we'll heat up to the low 90s in the afternoon and it will feel more like the triple-digits when the humidity is factored in.

A passing storm can't be ruled out as moisture begins to increase across the area.

A weak tropical wave currently near Dominican Republic will be tracking towards the West and the Northern edge of that wave will likely be moving across South Florida this weekend.

The wave will increase the chance for more showers Saturday and an even better chance of storms on Sunday with a very moist atmosphere in place.

Highs will remain right around 90 degrees the next few days.

Behind the wave in the Central Atlantic is another area of African Dust. This massive Saharan airlLayer is expected to possibly arrive here on Tuesday and then we'll see the return of the hazy skies and drier conditions.
