Wake & Long Headed To Pro Bowl
MIAMI (CBS4) - A lone bright spot in the 2010 season for the Miami Dolphins has been the ascent of outside linebacker Cameron Wake into the upper echelon of defensive stars. Wake was rewarded on Tuesday when he was named to his first Pro Bowl.
Wake currently leads the NFL with 14 sacks, 53 tackles, four passes defensed, and 3 forced fumbles entering the final weekend of the regular season. The former CFL star is one of the two best players brought in by the Parcells regime.
The other is left tackle Jake Long, who was picked for the third time to play for the AFC in the Pro Bowl. Long may miss the Pro Bowl due to a knee injury and dislocated shoulder injury that both may need surgery at the end of the season.
Wake is no stranger to post-season honors during his pro career. He's a former two-time Canadian Football League Defensive Player of the Year. The former Penn State star also told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel he would make good on teammate Channing Crowder's demand he take him along to Hawaii.
