Wade's Injury Improving As Playoffs Near
MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade was at practice Thursday and he's hopeful that his deep thigh bruise will have healed enough to allow him to play Friday night against the Charlotte Bobcats.
"I better really see tomorrow," Wade said. "I had a chance to go through a little workout. I'm optimistic I can play, not 40 minutes but maybe 39. It's about getting healthy."
Wade didn't play Wednesday night when the Heat lost to the Milwaukee Bucks. Wade said that even though he wanted to be out on the court, he would have been a liability on the floor for the team.
"I mean Monday I wasn't positive at all about even Friday, that's how much pain I was in; but yesterday was a good day, treatment wise, and today I woke up feeling even better," Wade said. "It's been progressing everyday and getting better and better. It's just about when I feel like I can go out there and do the things that I can do."
For the Heat, getting Wade healthy for a playoff run is of utmost importance. Still, Wade and Chris Bosh said the team is ready for the playoffs.
"Our team is fine, we're together," Wade said. "We understand that things are going to happen. We haven't had many issues this season."
"I think we're a playoff ready team," Bosh said. "We play well on the road and we play pretty good at home. We just have to fine tune a couple of things. And that can be done on the fly. We can pick things up very quickly."
