TORONTO (CBSMiami) – It certainly wasn't easy but the Miami Heat got a tough road win over the Toronto Raptors in Game 1 of their second round playoff series.
Miami overcame a deflating buzzer-beating three pointer that sent the game to overtime but that wasn't the only thing that members of the team were fighting through.
Dwyane Wade and Hassan Whiteside both played pivotal roles in the win, and both received treatment for knee injuries suffered during the game the Heat announced on Wednesday.
Whiteside appeared to slip while trying to catch a pass under the basket during the first quarter but did return to the game after a brief trip to the Heat locker room.
Wade banged his knee on the ground during an inbound play late in regulation.
"I hit the bone, and I'm sure it's bruised," Wade told reporters following the game.
Both players will be reevaluated before Game 2 which takes place on Thursday night at the Air Canada Centre. They are listed as probable to play in the game.
"It's not as bad as I originally thought it was," admitted Wade. "I'm optimistic that tomorrow I'll be fine."
