Wade May Not Play Versus Pacers

MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade will be a game-time decision when the Heat take on the Indiana Pacers at the AmericanAirlines Arena Wednesday night.

Wade has been hampered by a left foot problem for the last several days and did not participate in the team's shootaround practice Wednesday morning.

The Heat don't want the problem to get worse and will allow Wade to loosen up before the game and see how bad the injury is before determining if he can play against the Pacers.

On the season, Wade has averaged 18.8 points and 6.5 assists per game. He's also ranked sixth in the NBA in blocks, averaging 2 per game.

If Wade is out against the Pacers, Indiana may choose to use more zone defense than usual to force LeBron James to either slash to the hoop and take the foul, or try to shoot over the zone.

If the zone is implemented by the Pacers, expect the Heat to attack it hard and fast.

James has been playing lights out all season long and is scoring 29.3 points per game and shooting 60 percent from the field.

Chris Bosh will likely be asked to play a bigger role if Wade is out as well. Bosh is scoring nearly 19 points and grabbing 8 rebounds per game.
