Wade Looking Forward To Eventual Trip To White House
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Heat have yet to visit the White House as is tradition for NBA champions, but that doesn't mean the team isn't still looking forward to the trip.
Heat superstar Dwyane Wade has been a vocal supporter of President Obama. Heat superstar LeBron James also threw his support behind Obama in the election. Obama, like Wade, is from Chicago.
Obama kept his tradition of playing a pick-up basketball game in Chicago on Election Day. This year, former Chicago Bull star Scottie Pippen was one of the players involved in the game.
Wade said Wednesday that he thought it would be more comfortable to "not visit him when he's on his way out," of Obama.
Miami is scheduled to go to Washington to play the Wizards is December 4. The White House visit could come around that time if the Obama administration can fit it into the schedule.
