W. Va. Looking To Cancel 2012 FSU Game
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The West Virginia Mountaineers were last seen in the state of Florida annihilating the Clemson Tigers. But WVU's next scheduled trip to the Sunshine State may get canceled.
The Mountaineers have asked Florida State about canceling the two teams' game in Tallahassee on September 8th.
WVU first approached the Seminoles a few months ago after it announced it was moving to the Big XII Conference next season.
FSU athletic director Randy Spetman said he is hopeful that West Virginia will change its mind and allow FSU to honor the commitment to a return date in 2013 at Morgantown, West Virginia.
Based on the returning players and the way both teams finished the season, both squads will likely be highly-ranked heading into next season.
