Vrentas: "Fins Interviewing QB's Before Draft, But Tannehill's Job Safe"
Sports Illustrated & The Monday Morning Quarterback (MMQB) senior writer Jenny Vrentas joined The Big O Show on 560 WQAM on Wednesday and spoke about the Dolphins interviewing quarterbacks at the NFL Rookie Combine and how it relates to fifth-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill's status with the team.
"They're interviewing guys at every single position...You interview guys for a lot different reasons...I think they brought in Adam Gase with the idea that he can rehabilitate Tannehill and get him down the right track...They're giving him every opportunity to do that this year and at the end of the year if they feel like there's nothing more to be done then I think they'll explore options next year"
Tannehill, who's been Miami's starting quarterback since his rookie season in 2012, threw for a career-high 4,208 yards this past season - but still left fans wanting more from a "franchise quarterback" who just signed a 6-year, $95 million contract.
