VP Nominee Ryan Arriving In Tampa On Tuesday
TAMPA (CBSMiami) – Presumptive Republican vice-presidential nominee, Wisconsin Representative Paul Ryan, will not arrive in Florida until Tuesday for his planned speech on Wednesday night at the convention.
Ryan was originally scheduled to arrive on Monday, but GOP officials trimmed the convention to deal with the threat of Tropical Storm Isaac. The system spared Tampa, but is expected to be a hurricane by the time it reaches the Gulf coast late Tuesday.
Instead, Ryan will spend Monday speaking to students at his former high school in his hometown of Janesville, Wisconsin. Ryan will spend the rest of Monday working with aides to his vice-presidential campaign.
He will arrive in Tampa on Tuesday and officially accept his party's nomination as vice-president on Wednesday night.
