Voters In Davie, Ft. Lauderdale Go To Polls
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - People living in the town of Davie or parts of the City of Ft. Lauderdale hit the polls Tuesday for one of the few remaining March municipal elections in Broward County.
Voters in Davie elected a mayor and a council member, and voters in Ft. Lauderdale districts 1 and 4 voted for city commissioners.
In Davie, incumbent Mayor Judy Paul held off a challenge from Mike Crowley. In the race for Council District 1, James Moore lost to incumbent Bryan Caletka.
In Ft. Lauderdale's district 1, commissioner Bruce Roberts held off a challenge from Mary Graham, while District 4 incumbent Romney Rogers beat Jacquelyn Scott for the seat.
Broward once held most of its municipal elections in March, but most communities have been transitioning to a November election schedule.
