FHP Involved Shooting, Violent Crash In Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) - One person is dead after a shooting involving the Florida Highway Patrol and a violent crash in Miami Gardens.
Chopper 4 over the scene at NW 175th Street and NW 37th Avenue spotted a tarp covered body near the open front door of a maroon or red car which had front end damage.
Area residents told CBS4 the man who was driver the car, which crashed into an SUV before hitting a fence, looked like he had been shot in the chest and arm.
The silver SUV ended up a short distance away. The woman driving the SUV told those to who came to her aid that she was feeling well.
A woman who was standing by the fence at the time of the crash was also injured.
Before the crash, there was a Florida Highway Patrol trooper involved shooting on the Palmetto Expressway at NW 37th Avenue. The two incidents are related but the FHP has not said what prompted their trooper to fire.
