Venus & Jupiter Visible In Early Morning Sky
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Here's another show for stargazers to check out.
This time, it's Venus and Jupiter that will be the brightest in the sky early Saturday and Sunday morning.
The two planets had the closest planet-planet conjunction on August 18 and are still visible with the best viewing of Venus this weekend.
According to Earthsky.org, Jupiter passed into the morning sky on July 24 and became visible before sunrise during the second week of August.
Venus will add to the show and be visible throughout the rest of August in the eastern dawn sky about two-hours before sunrise.
A waning crescent moon meets up with Venus in the morning sky for several mornings, on August 23.
If you are able to see Venus in the morning sky, it will always be moving away from Earth, according to the experts.
Venus will remain the brightest star-like object in the morning sky until it fades into the sunrise in late September or early October 2014.
