Urban Meyer: Braxton Miller Has More Talent Than Tebow
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Ohio State University head coach Urban Meyer may have committed a mortal sin in the eyes of Florida Gator fans this week when he said his current quarterback, Braxton Miller, has more talent than former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Tim Tebow.
"Very similar guys," Meyer said, according to CollegeFootballTalk.com. "They're both competitive human beings. They're both very talented people. Braxton has more talent. Tim is probably more of a grinder."
Meyer made the comment on a radio show while discussing the Buckeyes' game against the University of Alabama at Birmingham on Saturday. OSU should have no problem dispatching UAB this weekend.
But, if one coach could make the comparison and have the credentials to get by with it, it's Meyer. He coached Tebow to a national championship and the Heisman Trophy and has been giddy about the possibilities the young Miller gives his spread-option attack in Columbus.
On the young season, the sophomore Miller is 48-78 for 611 yards, 7 touchdowns, and two interceptions. He's also carried the football 56 times for 377 yards and 5 touchdowns this year.
For a comparison, during Tim Tebow's sophomore year through the first three games he was 45-61 for 835 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 1 interception through the air. He also ran the ball 38 times for 192 yards and 5 touchdowns.
